The second card from my photomanipulation Tarot deck.

The Lovers card symbolizes growth, emotion, and the occasional need to give in to the powers that push and pull us throughout our lives. This is a complicated card; on one hand, it can represent positive movement towards love and commitment - on the other hand, it can represent the negative effects of becoming tangled in lust and passion.

-----------------------------------------------------

This took freaking forever to do. As you can imagine, it is rather difficult to make two women grow out of a tree...especially a tree with no leaves whatsoever (and no apples, for that matter).

The traditional Rider Waite tarot deck displays the Lovers as Adam & Eve figures in a garden of Eden, with a great leaf covered figure embracing them from above. My original intent was to mimic the male/female dichotomy of the card, but morph their bodies into a tree rather than have them sheltered by one. Consequently, I couldn't find ANY good stock photos of nude men; thus, my lovers became lesbians. I think this works, particularly because women have historically been portrayed as being intune with nature, as opposed to men who have historically been portrayed as masters of nature.

Tons of hours in this, but I'm finally happy with it.

Completed entirely within Photoshop 7.

Not sure if anyone has said this or not (my computer is being stubborn so I can't read the other comments) but...
When I first saw this I thought...its Lilith and Eve! But no, its Amanda and Eve...but still. I love this, its a beautiful photo manip. And I love that the tempting snake is a corn snake.

Nobody has mentioned Lilith and Eve...never even thought of it myself! lol

As for the corn snake, it just happened to be that I loved the snake's "face" and the colors worked really well against all the green foliage. Luckily enough, corn snakes are known for climbing trees...so he's not too out of place in my design.

Thanks for your complements! Glad that you liked it!

The faces of corn snakes are always so elegant with so much personality (I love corns, I own two) funny enough, my snow morph corn doesn't like climbing, I found it so odd of him.

The Corn snake you chose for your tree is called a Blood Morph...which I thought was fitting, since he's supposed to be satan. (people give snakes such a bad wrap)(in case you wanted to know)
and your welcome ^^

Remarkable! (Add any seven of your favorite impressive adjectives)! You must make your own archive of models, male and female. Sometimes there are classes with art models. Just a thought. You are an excellent photog. :rose:

I love the concept of time in the Dark Tower series...it really says a lot about our modern concept of time. We are fools about time. We think we can control it by planning ahead, binding ourselves up in complicated schedules...not to mention age defying "medicine" and technology....and in the end, we realize that we really can't control it. Time controls us...we're slaves to time...and those who accept time for what it is...who move with it and celebrate the changes it brings...they are the most rewarded.

yeeeeess :boogie: ..someone realised this on the series at last....
u don`t sleep when the day is over.....when u sleep, the day is over :D

still though....Dark Tower series is the only holy book that gets to me because of its approaches to time and faith and Ka and Ka-tet......and the idea of infinite alternate existence levels all gathered around one platform :D

I love how the series emphasizes that, if we just let go of the idea that our world is the only world, we can experience a whole new level of fulfillment...
